Campaign against the Tory Cuts

Fighting-back2

Campaign with Labour to protect our services and oppose Tory cuts!

The Tory government is forcing their ideological programme of austerity on this country and on Bristol. They have drastically reduced funding to local government, meaning Bristol City Council must cut more than £92 million in the next 5 years.

THESE CRUEL TORY CUTS FLY IN THE FACE OF LABOUR PARTY VALUES
Our Labour mayor and councillors were elected on a promise to build a fairer and more equal city. Our priority is to tackle inequality and deprivation head on. So Bristol’s Labour-led council is working hard to protect vital services despite Tory cuts. We will do everything we can to prevent Tory austerity hitting ordinary people in Bristol.

FIGHTING BACK: LABOUR OPPOSING TORY CUTS
Starting today, we are launching a Bristol-wide campaign. We will challenge the government and oppose Tory cuts. We will get the word out to people across Bristol so they can join us. We will speak up loudly and tell people that the country would be better off with Labour. It’s no accident that Tory cuts will hit Labour-led councils across the country, while Tory heartlands are protected. They are playing politics with our services. It’s time to fight back. #FightToryCuts

2 Share the campaign flyer on your social media and email to your friends and networks, and invite them to join our campaign events on the 4th. You can view the flyer and download as PDF at the bottom of this page
3 Get your personal message out on social media. Make a 30 second film saying why you feel passionately about this issue, and share it on your facebook and twitter. Use the hashtag #FightToryCuts
4 Brainstorm creative ideas with your friends and share them so we can help make them happen. How do we put pressure on the Tory councillors in your area? What other attention grabbing campaign actions could we take between the 4th & 21st?
